When it comes to finding natural food that tastes great and is also great for you and something that both kids and adults will enjoy, sometimes it can be difficult to find a balance. Luckily, there are some really fantastic organic and natural companies out on the market that makes food to satisfy both the finicky palettes of children and the experienced tastes of adults. One of our favorite companies that makes natural, wholesome, and super delicious food is a company called Barbara’s Bakery.
Barbara’s Bakery makes food that are all-natural, organic, and wholesome goodness for everyone. Their products range from cereal to sweet and savory snacks. We’ve enjoyed Barbara’s Bakery for awhile now and my son really enjoys their Puffins cereal, animal crackers, and baked cheese puffs. He can polish off a whole bag of cheese puffs if we let him!
Barbara’s Bakery had kindly sent me some samples of their cereal, Snackimals, and baked cheese puffs to try and review. We seriously loved all of them and the cheese puffs were gone in no time. Between the three of us, those good-looking bags of cheese puffs were devoured shamelessly and my son still has a bag of Snackimals left that he wants to “save”. The Snackimals are cute little animal-shaped cookies such as lions, monkeys, and panda bears. Although it’s important to look for foods that aren’t overly-processed, Barbara’s Bakery snacks contain whole grains, whole dairy, and whole fruits and they don’t use any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
Barbara’s Bakery is named after the founder and owner who was a true visionary of her time. With the company having over 40 years of experience in making natural, wholesome, and delicious food, I’m sure there’s a product from Barbara’s Bakery that anyone of any age can enjoy. What’s great about Barbara’s Bakery is that they use only natural cane sugar where necessary, otherwise their Multigrain Cereal Bars are sweetened with fruit juices which gives them a natural sweetness. And their Baked Cheese Puffs are made with real cheese from real milk and since they’re baked, the puffs are light, airy, and slightly crunchy. You wouldn’t even know they are baked and not fried.
Barbara’s Bakery makes a great assortment of products for virtually everyone. They even make gluten-free products for those who are gluten sensitive. Barbara’s Bakery’s current lineup of products are:
CEREALS – which includes Puffins, Shredded, High Fiber, and Classic.
SWEET AND SAVORY SNACKS – which includes Crunchy Granola Bars, Multigrain Cereal Bars, Fruit and Yogurt Bars, Fig Bars, Snackimals, and Cheese Puffs.
Barbara’s Bakery also believes in helping out the community through donations, sponsorships, and teaching about responsible eating for children. They are also major supporters of Project Puffin (since their cereals are dedicated to Puffins) through Audubon Society’s efforts to restore puffins to their former habitat of Eastern Egg Rock off the rugged coast of Maine: http://www.barbarasbakery.com/projectpuffin/. In fact, you’ll see the cute little Puffin birds as mascots on their Puffin cereal and throughout their entire product line. All of their cartons are also packaged in 100% recycled, carbon neutral paperboard and they proudly carry the EcoLogo™ on the side of the cartons.
Barbara’s Bakery is really a great choice for virtually anyone of any age. Their cereals and snacks do not contain anything artificial and they source their ingredients responsibly using non-genetically-modified ingredients. Their cereals and snacks are natural, there’s a whole variety to choose from, and best thing yet – they are absolutely delicious! So whether you’re looking for a new organic and natural brand of cereal to try or want to add some new healthier snacks to your children’s palette, be sure to give Barbara’s Bakery a try. I personally think their Snackimals are also a fun way for children to learn about the different animals and what they look like.
